History
A proposal to change the name of the lake to Lake Tahosa, in recognition of the Boy Scout Camp located on the shore of the lake, was rejected by the BGN in April 2013. At the same meeting, the existing name was changed from Tumblesom Lake to Tumbleson Lake to recognize the historical association with Silas T. Tumblesom, who was established mining claims in the area in the second half of the 19th century.
