Heads on the southeast slope of Mount Pinos, trends southeast for 7 miles into Ventura County to Lockwood Creek, 2.6 km (1.6 mi) southwest of Stauffer. (US-T121)

Amargosa means "bitter" in spanish. The stream has strong alkalinity in the water giving it a bitter taste. (US-T121)
