Description
In Sequoia National Park, northernmost of four peaks, in the Sierra Nevada, 1.9 km (1.2 mi) northwest of Mount Langley and 5.8 km (3.6 mi) southeast of Mount Whitney. (US-T121)
History
Named about 1868 for William Wilson Corcoran, 1798-1888, philanthropist of Washington, D.C., and founder of the Corcoran Gallery of Art. 1891 and 1933 United States Board on Geographic Names (BGN) Decision descriptions placed name 1.9 km (1.2 mi) southeast to what is now known as Mount Langley.
