Description
On the west bank of the Sacramento River at mile marker 245, 15.7 km (9.8 mi) northwest of Gerber. (US-T121)
History
Became the county seat of Tehama County in 1857. Incorporated in 1876. Named from the reddish color of a high bank of the Sacramento River, near which the city is located.
