Description
Located in secs 9 and 10,T43N,R4E, Mount Diablo Meridian. On the divide between Modoc National Forest and Shasta National Forest, 1.3 km (0.8 mi) west by Red Shale Butte and 2.6 km (1.6 mi) south of Glass Mountain. (US-T121)
History
Named in honor of George Washington Lyons, 1880-1929, for 18 years a member of the United States Forest Service, who died as a result of an accident while performing his duties as Supervisor of the Modoc National Forest. (US-T121)
