Description
Santa Cruz County is located along the Pacific Ocean, 64 km (40 mi) south of San Francisco.
History
Originally established as Branciforte County, and one of the original 27 counties created by the Act of February 18, 1850. The name was changed to Santa Cruz County on 5 April 1850.
