History

Named for Arthur L. “Art” Ogilvie (1917-1997), Santa Clara County Planner, who is credited with the idea of preserving the marshlands and bay by asking the U.S. Congress to create the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge, the first urban wildlife refuge in the United States.
