Description
In the San Bernardino Mountains, 1.1 km (0.7 mi) east of the Whitewater River, 1.1 km (0.7 mi) north of Painted Hill, 1.6 km (1 mi) southwest of Devils Garden, and 4 km (2.5 mi) north of the community of White Water. (US-T121)

Named for Matt Smithson, a pioneer who lived at the foot of the mountain and now lies buried on the east side of the mountian. (US-T121)
