History
Named originally Nicholls Warm Springs for A E Nicholls, who in 1949 filed a re-subdivision plat in the Palos Verde Valley. In 1964, the townsite was sold and the name Mesa Verde came into local use (Riverside County, California Place Names; Gunther, 1984).
