History
While climbing this mountain in May 1967, while overseeing a party of 9 with him, Dr. Andrew J Smatko's (proponent) finger was broken when he deflected a loosened 15-20 lb rock to save the life of a climber below him. On Octover 28, 1967, Dr. Smatko and 2 others climbed the mountain again and placed the name in the register "by right of first ascent; in Inyo NF. (US-T121)
