Description
Located in Death Valley Natioanl Park, just west of the main road, 8.5 km (5.3 mi) south of Furnace Creek Ranch, opposite exit to Artists Drive. (US-T121)
History
The purpose of this proposal was to recognize the unusual similarity of the feature to the surface of Mars, and to commemorate the May 1992 testing of the Russian Marsokhod Rover on this site in preparation for the 1997 Mars landing.Remnant of a basaltic lava flow on the valley floor. (US-T121)
