On the east slope of the Coso Range, 9.6 km (6 mi) south-southwest of Darwin. (US-T121)
History
A proposal to change the name Coso Springs to Darwin Springs was submitted by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Western Mapping Center in November 1982. Then name was rejected by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN) on 13 December 1984, based on the recommendation of the California Board.
