Located in sec 33,T18S,R14E, Mount Diablo Meridian. On Joaquin Ridge, 4.8 km (3 mi) west-northwest of Black Rock and 4.8 km (3 mi) southwest of Ragged Valley. (US-T121)
History
Visable for many miles these rocks were named for Joaquin Murietta (1830-1853), an early California bandit who used this region as a rendevous. Also known by the name "Tres Piedras" meaning "three rocks".
