Description
Located in sec 17,T13N,R17E, Mount Diablo Meridian. Located in Eldorado National Forest/Desolation Wilderness, 2.4 km (1.5 mi) northwest of the community of Emerald Bay, 11.3 km (7 mi) northwest of South Lake Tahoe.
History
Named for Jeffery J. Smith (1954-1982), commonly known as "Jake", and in honor of the other persons who died in an avalanche in the Alpine Meadows Ski Area on March 31, 1982.
