Description

In Franks Tract State Recreation Area, bound by Piper Slough on the south and west, and False River on the north, 4 km (2.5 mi) north of the community of Bethel Island. (US-T121)

History

The feature was formerly an artificial island created for agricultural use in the late 1800s; in 1986 the surrounding levees broke and the land flooded creating the current feature. (US-T121)
