Incomplete Record. S central US highlands lying S of the Missouri River in MO, covering 1/3 of the state, and extending SW into northern Arkansas, north of the Arkansas River and west of the Black River and into NE Oklahoma.
History
The aux arcs were said to refer to the bends in the White River, and applied to the Ozark Mountains, through which the river pursues a wandering course.
