On the S side of Grand Canyon near the lower end of Granite Gorge (US-T121).
History
This feature was called 'Observation Plateau' in 1901 by George Wharton James but renamed 'Huxley Plateau' by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1908 forThomas Henry Huxley (1825-1895), English biologist and philosopher. In 1908, the U.S. Board on Geographic Names approved the present form of the name, 'Huxley Terrace' (US-T121, AZ-T101/p.318).
