Name originally reported in 1916 as Goodluck Creek by J. B. Mertie (in Brooks and others, 1918, pl. 13) U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); however, local usage has shortened it to the present form shown on recent U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) maps.
