Description
Tozitna River is located heads in Ray Mts., flows W and S between the Ray and Rampart Mts., to Yukon River, 10 mi. WSW of Tanana, Kokrines-Hodzana High.
History
Indian name, "Tozi River," reported by personnel of the Western Union Telegraph Expedition of 1867 as "Towshecargut." In 1869 Raymond (1871, p. 23), U.S. Revenue-Cutter Service (USRCS), wrote it "Tosekargut," and Dall (1870, p. 282) spelled it "Tosikakat," or "mouth of the Tozi."
