Ptarmigan Creek is located flows SE joins Eagle Creek to form Birch Creek, 50 mi. SW of Circle, Yukon-Tanana High.

Named by prospectors; reported in 1903 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) (prindle, 1905, pl. 13).
