Description

Foraker River is located heads in Denali National Park at Foraker Glacier, flows NW to Lake Minchumina, Tanana Low. 60 miles long.

History

Name derived from Mount Foraker; reported in 1925 by S. R. Capps, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). In 1907, according to Gordon (1917, p. 80)," its Tanana Indian name was "Kwalana"; another Indian name reported in 1952 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is "Kotalhno."
