Description
Butte Creek is located formed by junction of Quartz and Shorty Creeks, on W slope of Cripple Creek Mts., flows SW to Folger Creek, 25 mi. NE of Ophir, Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mts. 6 miles long.
History
Prospectors' name obtained in 1933 by J. B. Mertie, Jr., (in Smith, P. S., 1936, pl. 4), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
