Old Rampart is located population 6, on right bank of Porcupine River opposite mouth of Salmon Trout River, 31 mi. ENE of Coleen Mtn., Porcupine Plateau
History
FitzGerald (1944, p. 241), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), wrote in 1939 "Old Rampart, one of the largest settlements on the Porcupine River west of the 141st meridian * * * a population of about 30 * * * has a small trading store and several well-built log cabins."
