Description
Central is located population 28, 28 mi. SW of Circle, Yukon-Tanana High.
History
The name was reported in 1896 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to be "Central House," a roadhouse on the trail to Circle (Spurr, 1898, pl. 50). In 1925, a post office was established under the present name (Ricks, 1965, p. 9).
