6.5 mi. SE of junction of Kanuti Kilolitna and Kanuti Rivers, 24 mi. SE of Allakaket, Kanuti Flats.

Local name published in 1951 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); the lake is said to have been named for a deaf-mute Indian.
