Incomplete record. Heads at Yakataga Glacier terminus, flows SW in two major channels: North Channel to Ducktooth River 2 mi. above its mouth, and South Channel to Gulf of Alaska 2 mi. W of Cape Yakataga, Chugach Mountains.

Local name reported in 1903 as "Yaktag" by G. C. Martin, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); spelling changed to agree with Cape Yakataga.
