Description
Khantaak Island is located on SE shore of Yakutat Bay, 1 mi. N of Phipps Peninsula, 1.8 mi. NW of Yakutat, Malaspina Coastal Plain.
History
Tlingit Indian name recorded by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 7), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). The name is reported to mean "wooden food dish."
