Tetlin River is located heads at glacier terminus, flows NE to Tanana River, 22 mi. SE of Tok, Alaska Range

History

Indian name recorded in 1885 as "Tetling" by Lieutenant Allen (1887, p. 78), USA. It was called "Bear Creek" by F. C. Schrader, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), because some bears were seen on this stream during his trip in 1902.
