History

Local name reported by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 1955. From Yukon Place Names database: Names for prospector Joseph Ladue (1854-1901) who wintered in the Yukon 1884-85. Ladue came from Schuyler, NY and was a pre-Klondike Gold Rush miner and trader who founded Dawson City.
