Description
North Fork Fortymile River is located heads at junction of Independence and Slate Creeks, flows SE to join South Fork Fortymile River to form Fortymile River, 42 mi. SW of Eagle; Yukon-Tanana High.

Local designation used as early as 1886; published in 1890 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
