Heads at 644000N, 1440200W, flows 88 mi NE to Yukon River, 55 mi NW of Eagle, Yukon-Tanana High.
History
The Indian name "Traodee" was recorded by Schwatka (1885, sheet 8). E. F. Ball named the stream "Charlie River" on an unpublished map dated 1898, probably for nearby Charlie Village or Chief Charlie. Lieutenant Cantwell (1902, p. 277), U.S. Revenue-Cutter Service (USRCS), appears to have established the "Charley" spelling for the stream.
