Description

Meade Glacier is located heads 5 mi. W of Mount Poletica on Alaska-Canada boundary, trends NW to its terminus at head of Katzehin River, 8 mi. E of Chilkoot Inlet and 17 mi. SE of Skagway, Coast Mts.

History

Named by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), probably for Rear Admiral R. W. Meade, 1870-1933, U.S. Navy (USN), who as commander of the U.S.S. Saginaw made a reconnaissance voyage through the Alex. Arch. in the winter of 1868-69.
