Mount Cecil is located on SE coast of Baranof I., Alex. Arch.
History
Local name published in 1910 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS); reported to be named for one of the daughters of Superintendent E. Lester Jones, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). However, in 1915, Jones stated "not named by me * * * named by native of Alaska of 30 years residence."
