Description
Morne Island is located in Galankin Is., 1 mi. S of Sitka, on W coast of Baranof I., Alex. Arch.
History
This island was originally named "Rogova" meaning "horn" in 1809 by the Russian navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first. The "M" is probably a typographical error which has become established over a period of years.
