History
named in 1920 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). name meaning "gold mountain," which refers to Mount Doolth near the head of the cove, on which several gold mines are located. Hirst, a merchant of Sitka who was the principal owner of the mine. in 1908 it was changed to Mine Cove.
