Located in the east central portion of Chichagof Island, 44 miles east of Chichagof, Alexander Archipelago.

Tlingit Indian name given in 1869 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) and published in the 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 178).
