Description
In Tongass National Forest, on Prince of Wales Island, in the course of Goose Creek, drains N to the Thorne River; 4.5 mi NW of the settlement of Salt Chuck, Alex. Arch. 1.3 miles long.
History
Local descriptive name reported in 1956 by C. L. Sainsbury, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), who stated, "This name is in local use by residents of the village of Salt Chuck, and the name is suggested by the shape of the lake."
