Fontaine Island is located at head of Shakan Bay, between Prince of Wales and Kosciusko Is., Alex. Arch. 0.3 mile long.
History
Named in 1886 by Lieutenant J. M. Helm, U.S. Navy (USN), for charting purposes; name published in 1887 on U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) Chart 706.
