Description
Emerald Island is located in Iphigenia Bay, 1.3 mi. W of Heceta I., Alex. Arch. 0.1 mile long.
History
Descriptive name given in 1908 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). In 1907 E. F. Dickins, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), reported the local name "Green Island." The name was changed to reduce duplication of the name "Green."
