Skowl Island is located between Kasaan Bay and its Skowl Arm, on E coast of Prince of Wales I., Alex. Arch.
History
Name published in 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 86); derived from nearby Skowl village. Because of the vague charting of this vicinity, this island was shown (pl. 1571, map facing p. 72) about 3 miles west of its true position as currently defined.
