History
"Haida Indian" name from the word "tanga," meaning "sea" or "salt," given in 1932 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). The name "Salt Water Lagoon" was published for this feature in 1925 Coast Pilot (p. 155).
