History
Named "Canos del Trocadero" on June 1, 1779, by Francisco Antonio Maurelle. "Trocadero was the name of a fort in the Bay of Cadiz. Adopted by Captain George Vancouver, Royal Navy (RN), under the same name, except that he spelled it with an 'F'" (Wagner, 1937, p. 420).
