Description
Salmon River is located in Baird Mts., flows S to Kobuk River 2 mi. SW of its junction with Tutksuk River, 24 mi. NE of Kiana, Brooks Range
History
In 1885, Lieutenant Stoney (1900, map), U.S. Navy (USN), reported the name for this stream as "Salmon or Kal-la-gu-nick River," (Eskimo, probably meaning "salmon.")
