Description
Akillik River is located heads in lake, flows SW to Hunt River, 2.8 mi. NE of that stream's junction with Kobuk River and 44 mi. NW of Shungnak, Brooks Range. 35 miles long.

Eskimo name meaning something on the other side or across; obtained at Shungnak in 1956 by Orth.
