History

This appears to be an Eskimo name probably derived from "Keak," a name reported in 1950 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), or a shortened form of the name of a nearby camp called "Kayniktouk" by D. C. Foote, of Project Chariot.
