Description
Colorado Creek is located heads on Cone Mtn., flows SW to Cripple River, 13 mi. NW of Nome, Seward Peninsula High. 1 mile long.
History
Prospectors' name reported in 1899 by D. C. Witherspoon (in Schrader and Brooks, 1900, map 2) U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The 1900 "Map of Nome Peninsula" by J. M. Davidson and B. D. Blakeslee shows two streams, "Dog" and "Ryan," heading on Cone Mountain and flowing SW to Cripple River. Recent topographic maps do not show these streams.
