Description
American Creek is located heads near Banner Peak, flows SW to Snake River, 4 mi. NW of Nome, Seward Peninsula High.; 2 miles long.
History
Prospectors' name reported in 1899 by D. C. Witherspoon (in Schrader and Brooks, 1900, map 2), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This may be the "Crystal Creek" or "Golden Gulch" shown on recent maps.
