History

Eskimo name often recorded as "Anigulgit", meaning "perpetual snow"; published by the University of Alaska in 1932. The prevailing north wind has drifted snow into a bank often reaching more than 150 ft high along a south-facing cliff. This permanent snowbank furnishes fresh water to several south-flowing streams.
