Heads near the central part of the crest of Sheep Mountain, flowing S to the East Fork Matanuska River, 4.6 mi E of Glacier Point, 55 mi. NE of Palmer, Copper River Basin.
History
Local name reported by C. F. Fuechsel, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in 1950. So named because the rocks along the side of the stream are "bright yellow, red, and white."
