Description
Flows NE to Canyon Creek, 5 mi W of the latters confluence with the Skwentna River, 7 mi. E of Dickason Mts. and 58 mi. NW ot Tyonek, Alaska Range. 7 miles long.
History
So named in 1962 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) geologists because the contact between granite and coal-bearing rocks are well exposed along its banks.
